Where do we come from?
Serral’s history is that of men and women dedicated to build a great company with a noble purpose: helping people to live longer, healthier and whole. Our search is focused on improvement of the quality of life of human beings.
Serral is founded by a group of enthusiastic physicians, all of them well known in the medical community of those days.
Serral buys 49% of the assts of Laboratorios Miles de Mexico S.A. de C.V. enlarging its product line.
Serral buys the property of Adolfo Prieto 1009 in the Colonia Del Valle in Mexico City.
It buys Cutter Laboratories de México S.A. de C.V. and it sells it in 1987.
It buys the Sanitary Registers and Brand Licenses of Dome products for its production, medical promotion and selling.
Serral is acquired at its 100% by a group of Mexican actionists. The production plant installations are remodeled according to the sanitary legislation at that time, buying machinery for the manufacturing of dermal powders, tablets and coated pills.
Activities are started in order to produce surgical sutures approved by the FDA for all the threads Serral manufactures.
Start of the construction of SOMAR Sutures (Piedras Negras, Coahuila) for the production of Catgut strands and the construction of machinery for producing surgical needles.
Lito Offset 2001 S.A. de C.V. is bought, that is the company that provides packing and prints for Serral.
Suplemed S.A. de C.V. is built in order to import and distribute healing material.
Serral creates Policlínicas Milenium S.A. de C.V. in order to offer efficient health services that are cheap and with excellent attention for the poorest people in our society.
Somar Lukens S.A. de C.V. is built to produce suture needles to be exported to the U.S.A.
The project Unidad Clínica y Analítica (bio-pharmaceutical) is installed with authorization from the SSA to give services as authorized third part in bio availability and/or bio equivalency studies for drugs. It is sold in 2006.
Serral remodels its production plant including its storage area and its administrative offices for all the companies in the Group.
The long ISO 9000 Certification process starts for all the companies in the group:

- Serral División Suturas Quirúrgicas (2002)
- Lito Offset 2001 (2004)
- Serral Planta de Medicamentos (2005)
A joint venture with Sun Pharmaceuticals LTD is established. It is an Indian pharmaceutical company with world wide relevance in the production of specialized drugs for the Central Nervous System. With this union, Sunpharma de Mexico is born for the promotion of its products in the Central Nervous System specialty.
The construction of the new productive and storage facilities starts in a 18,000 sq. m. surface at Chalco, Estado de Mexico. They are finished in 2008.
The new Serral’s administrative offices are inaugurated in Adolfo Prieto 1427 at San Lorenzo, Colonia Del Valle in Mexico City.
A join venture is signed with Kedrion, S.p.A, Italian company with international name and state of the art technology in hemoderivated products.
A join venture with national pharmaceuticals is signed creating Alliance Pharma to enter the OTC market through massive communication media.
In April, Serral Dermatológica evolves to become Advatia Pharmaceuticals.
